Summary
EFSI analyses web pages on your device. We run no servers for this extension and collect no data about you. If you turn on optional AI features, page excerpts are sent to the AI provider you choose, using your own API key.
What EFSI does
EFSI is a Chrome extension that checks the page you are viewing for SEO, AEO and GEO readiness and suggests fixes.
Data we collect
None. The publisher does not receive, store or have access to your data. EFSI has no backend, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and does not collect browsing history.
Data stored on your device
Stored in your browser (chrome.storage.local), never sent to the publisher:
- Your settings.
- Your API key, if you add one.
- Cached analysis results and history (can be turned off).
- Competitor URLs and SERP selections you made.
- Your AI visibility log.
Controls in Settings: history on or off, retention period (1 to 365 days, default 30), excluded domains, "Clear analysis history" and "Delete all data" (which also removes your API key). Uninstalling the extension removes its stored data.
When EFSI reads a page
Only when you click Analyze (or Automatic analysis is on, and only on the tab where you opened EFSI). Analysis happens locally in your browser.
Optional AI features (off by default)
AI features work only after you enable "Allow AI analysis" and add your own API key. When you use an AI feature, EFSI sends the following directly from your browser to the provider you selected (Anthropic, OpenAI, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint you entered):
- A trimmed excerpt of the page (first 1,500 words), its headings and a summary of detected issues.
- Text you select, if you use "Optimize with EFSI".
- Questions you type into Ask AI.
- Your API key, as the authentication credential for that provider.
EFSI never sends raw HTML, links or images. Domains you exclude are never analysed or sent. The provider processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for the charges and terms of your own API account. We do not receive a copy.
Competitor comparison and SERP overlay
- Competitor comparison fetches only the pages you list, with no cookies, at most 5 pages. Chrome asks you for permission for each site.
- The SERP overlay is off by default. If enabled, Chrome asks for access to Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo, and EFSI reads the result titles and links on those pages to let you select competitors. Nothing is sent to us.
Permissions
activeTab and scripting (analyse the tab you invoked EFSI on), storage (local settings and history), sidePanel (dashboard), contextMenus (right-click optimizer), host access to api.anthropic.com and api.openai.com (optional AI calls), and optional per-site access you grant at click time.
Sharing, selling, advertising
We do not sell data, share it with third parties, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness. The only transmission to a third party is the opt-in AI request above, initiated by you.
Children
EFSI is not directed at children under 13.
Security
Your API key is kept in chrome.storage.local, is not readable by page scripts, is hidden after saving and is never included in exports. All network requests use HTTPS (HTTP is allowed only for localhost custom endpoints).
Changes
We will update this page and the effective date when practices change. Material changes will also be noted in the Web Store listing.
