Common questions
Analyze does nothing, or says EFSI does not have access to this tab
EFSI can read a tab only after you click its toolbar icon on that tab. After you navigate or switch tabs, click the icon again. Chrome internal pages, the Web Store and PDFs cannot be analysed.
How do I turn on AI features?
Open EFSI Settings, add your own API key, choose a provider and model, tick "Allow AI analysis", then press Test connection. AI is off by default and nothing is sent anywhere until you do this.
Test connection fails
Check that the key is valid and has credit, and that the model name is one your key can access. Model names change over time. A 401 means an invalid key. A 429 means a rate limit or no remaining credit.
What data leaves my browser?
Nothing, unless you enable AI. With AI on, a trimmed page excerpt, headings and an issue summary go to the provider you selected. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
EFSI Settings has "Clear analysis history" and "Delete all data" (which also removes your API key). Uninstalling the extension removes its stored data.
The score changed or looks wrong
Scores are heuristic checks and can change when the page changes. Every factor in the dashboard shows its weight and the checks behind it. Send us the details above if you think a check is wrong.
The SERP overlay stopped working
It relies on the result markup of Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo, which can change. Report it and we will update the selectors.
